CWP CERTIFICATION LEVELS
There are three levels of IWA Webmaster Certification (CWP - Certified Web Professional): CWP Associate, CWP Specialist, and Master CWP Certification Tracks.

ACHIEVING CWP WEBMASTER CERTIFICATION
Individuals who successfully complete one or more of the CWP - Webmaster Certification tracks will receive a distinctive, green and gold CWP Certificate worthy of framing. Individuals who become certified are authorized and encouraged to display the Certified Web Professional (CWP) designation associated with their discipline on their individual letterhead, business cards and other professional forms.

Be a member in good standing of the International Webmaster Association.
2.
Experience:
- CWP Associate - No experience required.
- CWP Specialist - Candidates must work full-time for a period of two (2) years in a given specialization as one of the following: practitioner, reviewer or supervisor within the last five (5) years.
- Master CWP Specialist - Candidates must work full-time for a period of five (5) years in a given specialization as one of the following: practitioner, reviewer or supervisor within the last nine (9) years.
3.
Successfully pass the IWA approved industry examination * of chosen discipline(s).
* Prosoft CIW - Certified Internet Webmaster certification exams are currently approved by IWA.

THREE-STEP REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR CWP CANDIDACY
1.
Complete CWP Candidacy Application and the Experience Verification Form in the Members Only Area
2.
Pay the application fee to IWA Headquarters for each discipline.
3.
Upon approval, you will receive a confirmation letter and certificate with an assigned Candidacy Registration number from International Headquarters.

CWP Certification Tracks
A CWP Site Designer designer implements and maintains Web sites using authoring and scripting languages, content creation and management tools, and digital media.
A CWP Internetworking Specialist defines network architecture, identifies infrastructure components, monitors and analyzes network performance. This individual also designs and manages TCP/IP networks.
A CWP Enterprise Developer builds n-tier database and legacy connectivity solutions for Web applications, using Java, Java application programming interfaces (APIs), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) solutions, middleware tools, and distributed object models.
A CWP E-Commerce Specialist is expert in standards, technologies and practices in electronic commerce. Understand and manage the relationships among credit cardholders, issuers, merchants, acquirers, payment gateways and third parties. Understands the uses of Secure Electronic Transactions (SET), cryptography standards, Certificate Authorities, and electronic services.
A CWP Security Specialist implements security policy, identifies security threats and develops countermeasures using firewalls and attack-recognition technologies. This individual is expert in transaction and payment security solutions.
A CWP Server Administrator manages and tunes E-Commerce infrastructure including Web servers, FTP, news, and mail servers for mid-size to large businesses. Server administrators configure, manage and deploy e-business solutions servers.
A CWP Application Developer builds client- and server-side Web applications using Rapid Application Development tools and component technologies to implement two-tier database connectivity solutions.

Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is IWA's CWP - Certified Web Professional certification associated with Prosoft's CIW - Certified Internet Webmaster certification?
IWA Certfication has more requirements than Certified Internet Webmaster, but has the same knowledge base as CIW. In other words, to get the IWA-CWP Webmaster Certification, you have to have all the same knowledge as a CIW graduate, but fulfill other requirements as well. The requirements are: Experience (2 yrs), Professionalism (IWA membership), and Continuing Education (meaning you will need to take at least 30 hours of approved courses every three years to maintain the webmaster certification once you've achieved it). IWA's comprehensive requirements have established IWA Certification as the highest vendor-neutral standard in the industry.
Can exams associated with the CIW certification be used toward CWP certification?
Yes, to get CWP certified, you will need to take the CIW exams. The added benefit is that by fulfilling the requirements for IWA certification, you automatically fulfill all of the requirements for CIW certification as well, resulting in two web master certification designations, an undeniable advantage in the career market.
Is there such thing as renewing your Certification status?
To maintain your certification, you must renew your membership with IWA on an annual basis. Also, you must complete 30 hours of approved continuing education every three years for each CWP designation. IWA sends reminder notices to all CWP members to continue with their education program, and that proof of this will need to be sent to IWA at the end of each of the three years. Continuing education can be achieved by in several ways, including attending related conferences, seminars, additional coursework.
